Perfectly proportioned - just the ticket for a small family planning to have an enjoyable cruise on the lake, and spend a comfortable night onboard.
The Bayliner 265 is a fantastic option for those looking to keep running costs sensible and have a boat which is easy to manage even for a beginner.
Step on board via the swim platform into the cockpit and you're instantly aware of space and light on offer here. There's plenty of seating for entertaining and enjoying the view.
The well proportioned helm to starboard affords the skipper a great vantage point whilst underway, and gives ease of access to the transom for talking with crew members or quick disembarking if you're sailing single handed.
It's down three steps to the saloon and cabin, and this space is literally unique as she has had a full professional re-fit and you won't find another 265 fitted out in this way. A credit to her owner. A fantastic job. More photos will follow (when the weather is kinder to us!).
Again in this area there is a suprising amount of space and plenty of headroom. I'm 6'1" and there's no need to crouch or duck! The long side windows bring in plenty of light, and the modern galley (smaller than a standard 265 galley but this just gives more space in the main section of the cabin).
There's air con (not tested at the time of writing), and a modern small fridge which is super convenient. Over on the starboard side is a one-piece molded head unit that can be used to shower "wet-room" style.
Here's a list of updates the current owners have made:
- interior fully re carpeted walls and floors
- new interior and exterior upholstery
- new electric toilet
- new sink and gas hob
- new bespoke kitchen unit
- new mattress in the aft sleeping compartment
- new LED lighting to cabin
- new water pump
- new calorifier
- exterior blue stripe re painted and full machine polish and anti foul
- Electrics converted to 230V uk with a new sergent EC160 power management unit
- new batteries
- the engine had a complete and extensive service with new bellows, swirl flaps, water pump
- Sterndrive removed and re painted
- Full 300 hour service with anodes and sticker kit
This should be a turn-the-key-and-go proposition (subject to survey) so she should represent a great option for anyone looking for a small but spacious cabin cruiser for couples and families alike.
